Submitting Articles

The Voice for the Defense welcomes submissions for publication. If you would like to submit an article, please see our guidelines for writing a Voice article.

Anyone may register with our blog by following this link: http://archive.voiceforthedefenseonline.com/legalblog/.

The Voice for the Defense (ISSN 0364-2232) magazine (print version) is published 10 times a year with combined issues for January/February and July/August by the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Inc., 1717 W. 6th #315, Austin, Texas 78703. Printed in the USA. Periodical postage paid in Austin, Texas.

A non-member subscription is $75 annually. Members receive a Voice for the Defense subscription as part of their annual membership fees (basic subscription rate of $40 annually).

Our first objective is to educate and improve communication within the criminal defense community and among TCDLA members. Through practical information, we assist our readers in their day-to-day practice of representing citizens accused of crimes. We are always looking for articles that draw from experience and are adequately supported with citations and references. Of course, all submissions are subject to approval and may be edited at our discretion.

Statements and opinions published in the Voice for the Defense are those of the individual author and do not necessarily represent the position of TCDLA. No material may be reprinted without prior approval and proper credit to the magazine and author. You may feel free to link to articles in this online magazine and leave appropriate comments on our blog.

Note: To join TCDLA you must be a member in good standing of the State Bar of Texas engaged in the defense of criminal cases (except law students or affiliate applicants). New applicants must be endorsed by a current TCDLA member. Members of the judiciary (except honorary members) and those regularly employed in a prosecutorial office are not eligible.
